With God As My Lifeguard

Sometimes I try to imagine what it would've been like growing up as Jesus. I mean, being the son of God comes with plenty of perks, don't get me wrong, I just figure Jesus must've had a tough time in his early years.

It's a hot day. You've just finished your chores and a few friends swing by to see if you'd like to go swimming. The thought of dipping into a cool stream sounds fantastic, the only problem is you can't.

You don't know how to swim.

Why? Because you walk on water. How much does that suck? All your "friends" point and laugh at the revelation you can't swim. Kids can be so cruel. And what really sucks is you have to shoulder all their sins in 20 years.

I guess Jesus would've made a bad lifeguard.

What about snow? Can Jesus walk on snow? It's frozen water. Does the material's state matter? Slush is probably out. Too runny. Too much like water. But what about a nice soft pack of freshly fallen powder? Could he walk down a slope of snow and never fall in? And frozen lakes... He doesn't have to worry about thin ice. I guess being the son of God has it's advantages when it comes to ice skating.

And how do those "snow angels" fit into the picture?
